About

It started with Barbie.  Before I was allowed anywhere near a sewing machine, I was designing Barbie evening gowns with stick pins and pretty floral handkerchiefs, manipulating folds of fabric into bustles and borders.

I learned to sew from Vogue pattern instructions. I've spent my whole life sewing, even while I was in college and grad school getting my MBA--making most of my clothes for a few decades, my kids' clothes, prom dresses, some amazing wedding dresses, band uniforms, high school play costumes, guard flags, and so much more.

Designing and sewing beautiful, useful things has always been my love.  Now it's hats and bags -- practical, pretty, colorful things.  I sew for the joy of making things that fill a need while helping the wearer to feel like themselves.
